A shower is the hardest-working tile in the house. It gets wet every day, so what matters most is what you never see: a sound, properly prepared surface behind the tile, correct slope to the drain, and careful sealing at every seam and corner.
Steve & Angelo have spent more than 12 years building showers and bathrooms in homes around Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills and Camarillo. Whether you want clean white subway tile or an intricate marble mosaic, the same attention goes into the prep as into the finish.

Custom Shower Pans & Walk-In Showers
Yes, we build custom shower pans. For walk-in, low-curb and curbless showers, Steve builds the shower floor by hand: a sloped mortar bed (often called a mud bed) that falls toward the drain at about 1/4 inch per foot, with a waterproof layer so water never sits under the tile. A pan that is built right is what keeps a shower from leaking, cracking or growing mold years later, and it is the step most often rushed on older showers in Thousand Oaks homes.
Because the pan is built on site, it can fit any shower size and any drain: a center drain, a linear drain along the wall, a built-in bench or a wide doorless entry. Then we set whatever tile you choose on top, from small marble mosaics that follow the slope to large porcelain.

How long does a tile shower take?
It depends on the size of the shower, the tile you choose and how much tear-out is needed. Mosaics and detailed patterns take longer than large tile. We'll give you a realistic timeline when we see the space.
Can you tile over my old shower tile?
No. We do not set new tile over old tile. We remove the old tile so we can check and properly prepare what's underneath. Tear-out is part of what we do.
Do you add niches and benches?
Yes. Recessed niches, benches and decorative borders are some of our favorite details to build.
Do you do the whole bathroom or just the shower?
Either. We can tile just the shower or the floors, walls and tub surround as one project.
